Lebon Cilair

Lebon Cilair was born on May 26, 1960, in Côtes de Fer. He received his law degree from the Law Faculty of the Haiti State University in Port-au-Prince in 1984. His thesis, “Socio-legal considerations on some aspects of copyright”, was presented in October of that year.

From November 1984 to June 1988, Mr. Cilair continued his studies at Legal and Political Science Faculty of Aix-en-Provence in France. During this time, he completed a DEA in Private Law and a DEA in Criminological Sciences and Criminalistics. He also attended the Institute of Insurance Law (IDA), the Judicial Studies Institute (IEJ) and the Centre for Professional Training of Attorneys of Aix-en-Provence (CFPA).

In 1992, Me Cilair became an active member of the Port-au-Prince Bar Association. He specializes in legal management of commercial companies, the resolution of civil and commercial disputes, management of administrative proceedings, and the drafting, analysis, and interpretation of contracts. He also has a deep understanding of the law of non-governmental organizations, foundations, and associations. In addition, he has experience in handling divorces, both for Haitian citizens and foreigners, and in legal issues related to landlord and tenant law.

Mr. Cilair is trilingual, fluent in Creole, French and English.
